This section provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the email clients below:

Apple Mail

POP Setup

Configuring POP3 Apple Mail

  1. Click the Mail menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Accounts icon
  4. Click the + sign in the bottom-left corner of window
  5. Select POP as the Account Type, and fill in a general description of the account (Work, ONmail, etc)
  6. Type your Email Address and your Full Name into the corresponding fields
  7. Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net in the Incoming Mail Server field
  8. Enter your account User Name (ie. username.enterprise) and Password into the corresponding fields
  9. In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop-down menu, select Add Server...
  10. In the new window, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field
  11. In the Authentication drop-down menu, select Password and retype your Username and Password into the corresponding
    fields, then click OK


Configuring POP3 Apple Mail w/SSL

IMAP Setup

Configuring IMAP Apple Mail

Note: We do not allow the default IMAP account settings used by the Apple Mail program. Please follow our setup instructions very carefully to ensure that the client is configured properly with our servers. If configured incorrectly, your account could result in having IMAP disabled..

  1. Click the Mail menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Accounts icon
  4. Click the + sign in the bottom-left corner of window
  5. Select IMAP as the Account Type, and fill in a general description of the account (Work, ONmail, etc)
  6. Type your Email Address and your Full Name into the corresponding fields
  7. Type imap.oxfordnetworks.net in the Incoming Mail Server field
  8. Enter your account User Name (ie. username.enterprise) and Password into the corresponding fields
  9. In the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop-down menu, select Add Server...
  10. In the new window, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field
  11. In the Authentication drop-down menu, select Password and retype your Username and Password into the corresponding  fields, then click OK
  12. Click the Advanced button

* Be sure that "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing" is set to "Don't keep copies of any messages". Having this set otherwise, will result in IMAP being disabled for your account

 

 

Configuring IMAP Apple Mail w/SSL

  1. Click the Mail menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Click the Accounts icon

Configuring Eudora POP Setup

  1. Click the Special (Tools on a PC) menu and choose Settings
  2. Click the Gettings Started icon in the Options window
  3. Enter  your email address in the Username field
  4. Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net in the Mail Server field
  5. Type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the SMTP Server field
  6. Click the Sending mail icon in the Options window
  7. Check the box for Allow authorization
  8. Click OK

 

 Configuring Eudora POP3 Setup w/SSL

  1. Click the Special (Tools on a PC) menu and choose Settings
  2. Click the Gettings Started icon in the Options window
  3. Enter your email address in the Username field
  4. Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net in the Mail Server field
  5. Type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the SMTP Server field
  6. Click the Sending mail icon in the Options window

  9. In the Secure Sockets Layer next to SSL for POP choose Required (TLS) from the drop down 
  10. In the Secure Sockets Layer next to SSL for SMTP choose Required (TLS) from the drop down
  11. Click OK

IMAP Setup

Configuring IMAP Eudora Setup

  1. Click the Special (Tools on a PC) menu and choose Settings
  2. Click the Gettings Started icon in the Options window
  3. Enter your email address in the Username field
  4. Type imap.oxfordnetworks.net in the Mail Server field
  5. Type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the SMTP Server field
  6. Click the Sending mail icon in the Options window

Configuring IMAP for Eudora Setup w/SSL

  1. Click the Special (Tools on a PC) menu and choose Settings
  2. Click the Gettings Started icon in the Options window
  3. Enter  your email address in the Username field
  4. Type imap.oxfordnetworks.net in the Mail Server field
  5. Type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net in the SMTP Server field
  6. Click the Sending mail icon in the Options window

  8. Click the SSL icon
  9. In the Secure Sockets Layer next to SSL for IMAP choose Required (TLS) from the drop down 
  10. In the Secure Sockets Layer next to SSL for SMTP choose Required (TLS) from the drop down 
  11. Click OK.

 

Microsoft Outlook 2002 (XP) / 2003

POP Setup

Configuring Outlook 2002/ XP for POP3 service

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Choose Email Accounts
  3. Click Add a new e-mail account and click Next
  4. In the Server Type listing, choose POP3 and click Next
  5. Type Your Name and the full Email Address assigned to your account
  6. Type your User Name (your full email address) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)
  7. Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net for the Incoming mail server and smtp.oxfordnetworks.net for the Outgoing mail server
  8. Click the More Settings button
  9. Click the Outgoing Server tab
  10. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  11. Click the Advanced tab
  12. Verify that the incoming port is 110 and the outgoing port is either 25 or 5125 (*if you have trouble sending email, please use 5125)
  13. Check the box for Leave a copy of message on the server if you want to access your email from the web application as well
  14. Click the OK button, then the Next button and then Finish 


Configuring Outlook 2002/ XP w/SSL for POP3 service
  1. Click Tools --> Email Accounts, The Accounts window appears
  2. Check the Add New Email Account button
  3. Click Next
  4. The Server Accounts window appears select POP3.
  5. Click Next
  6. The Internet Email Settings window appears
  7. In the User Information fields add you’re Your Name. Enter the name you want others to see in the From: field when you send E-mail.
  8. Enter your full e-mail address
  9. In the Login Information field Enter your complete E-mail address
  10. Enter your e-mail account password
  11. Note: You can set Outlook Express to remember your password if you don't want to type it in every time you check for new messages.
  12. In the Server Information field Input the POP3 server pop.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming mail server field.
  13. Input the SMTP server smtp.oxfordnetworks.net into the Outgoing mail server field.
  14. Click on More Settings
  15. Click on the Outgoing Server tab
  16. Check the box beside My server requires authentication
  17. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  18. Click on the Advanced tab
  19. Verify that the incoming port is 110 and the outgoing port is either 25 or 5125 (*if you have trouble sending email, please use 5125)
  20. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  21. Click OK
  22. Click Next
  23. Click Finish, the Internet Connection Wizard will close.

IMAP Setup

Configuring Outlook 2002 or XP for IMAP service

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Choose Email Accounts
  3. Click Add a new e-mail account and click Next
  4. In the Server Type listing, choose IMAP and click Next
  5. Type Your Name and the Email Address assigned to your account
  6. Type your User Name (your email address) and Password (same as used to login to the web application)

  8. Click the More Settings button
  9. Click the Outgoing Server tab

  11. Click the OK button, then the Next button and then Finish

Configuring Outlook 2002 or XP w/SSL for IMAP service

  1. Launch Outlook 2002/ XP
  2. Click Tools --> Email Accounts, The Accounts window appears
  3. Check the Add new Email Account button
  4. Click Next
  5. The Server Accounts window appears select IMAP.
  6. Click Next

Microsoft Outlook Express / 2000

POP Setup

Configuring POP3 for Outlook Express and 2000

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Choose Accounts
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Choose Mail
  5. Type your Display Name (Usually First and Last name) and click Next
  6. Type the Email Address assigned to your user name and click Next
  7. Verify that POP3 is selected from the drop-down menu
  8. For Incoming mail server, type pop.oxfordnetworks.net
  9. For Outgoing mail server, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net
  10. Click Next
  11. For Account name, type your  email address
  12. Type your Password (same one used to login to the web application)
  13. Verify that Remember Password is checked and click Next
  14. Click the Finish button
  15. Double-click on the ONmail account under either the All tab or the Mail tab
  16. Click the Servers tab
  17. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  18. Click the Advanced tab
  19. Check the box for Leave a copy of message on server if you want to access your email from the web application as well
  20. Click the Apply button, then the OK button, and then Close

 

Configuring POP3 for Outlook Express and 2000 w/SSL
  1. Launch Outlook Express
  2. Click Tools --> Accounts, The Accounts window appears
  3. Click the Mail tab
  4. Click the Add button then choose Mail, the Internet Connection Wizard appears.
  5. Add your Display Name. Enter the name you want others to see in the From: field when you send E-mail, then click Next.
  6. Enter your E-mail address, then click Next
  7. Do not change the value beside "My incoming mail server is a". It should remain set to POP3.
  8. Input the POP3 server as pop.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming mail server field.
  9. Input the SMTP server as smtp.oxfordnetworks.net into the Outgoing mail server field. Click Next.
  10. Enter your complete E-mail address  in the Account Name field.
  11. Enter your ONmail account password and click Next.
  12. Note: You can set Outlook Express to remember your password if you don't want to type it in every time you check for new messages.
  13. Click Finish, the Internet Connection Wizard will close.
  14. Click the Mail tab, the Mail Accounts window appears
  15. Click the account you just created, then click the Properties button
  16. Click the Servers tab
  17. Check the box beside My server requires authentication, then click the Settings button
  18. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server and click OK
  19. Click on the Advanced tab.
  20. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (POP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  21. Click OK
  22. Click Apply, then OK to close the properties window. The Internet Accounts window will reappear.
  23. Click OK to exit the Internet Accounts window, your E-mail set-up is complete

IMAP Setup

Configuring Outlook Express or 2000 for IMAP service

  1. Click the Tools menu
  2. Choose Accounts
  3. Click the Add button
  4. Choose Mail
  5. Type your Display Name (Usually First and Last name) and click Next
  6. Type the Email Address assigned to your user name and click Next
  7. Verify that IMAP is selected from the drop-down menu
  8. For Incoming mail server, type imap.oxfordnetworks.net
  9. For Outgoing mail server, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net 
  10. Click Next
  11. For Account name, type your email address
  12. Type your Password (same one used to login to the web application)
  13. Verify that Remember Password is checked and click Next
  14. Click the Finish button
  15. Double-click on the ONmail account under either the All tab or the Mail tab
  16. Click the Servers tab
  17. Check the box for My server requires authentication
  18. Click the Apply button, then the OK button, and then Close
  19. When prompted with Do you want to download folders from the mail server you added?, click Yes
  20. Click the OK button

 

Configuring Outlook Express or 2000 w/SSL for IMAP service

  1. Launch Outlook Express
  2. Click Tools --> Accounts, The Accounts window appears
  3. Click the Mail tab
  4. Click the Add button then choose Mail, the Internet Connection Wizard appears.
  5. Add your Display Name. Enter the name you want others to see in the From: field when you send E-mail, then click Next.
  6. Enter your E-mail address, then click Next
  7. Change the value beside "My incoming mail server is a". to IMAP.
  8. Input the IMAP server imap.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming mail server field.
  9. Input the SMTP server smtp.oxfordnetworks.net into the Outgoing mail server field. Click Next.
  10. Enter your complete E-mail address in the Account Name field.
  11. Enter your ONmail account password and click Next.
  12. Note: You can set Outlook Express to remember your password if you don't want to type it in every time you check for new messages.
  13. Click Finish, the Internet Connection Wizard will close.
  14. Click the Mail tab, the Mail Accounts window appears
  15. Click the account you just created, then click the Properties button
  16. Click the Servers tab
  17. Check the box beside My server requires authentication, then click the Settings button
  18. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server and click OK
  19. Click on the Advanced tab.
  20. Check the box, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" for both the Incoming (IMAP) and Outgoing (SMTP) mail servers.
  21. Click Apply, then OK to close the properties window. The Internet Accounts window will reappear.
  22. Click OK to exit the Internet Accounts window, your E-mail set-up is complete.

Mobile Devices

Note: We do not support IMAP accounts setup on mobile devices

Setup instructions for configuring POP accounts on various mobile devices

Blackberry

Blackberry devices can receive emails in one of two ways:

Forward all emails to the blackberry email address

  1. Login to the web application
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click Email Forwarding
  4. Click the Status to On
  5. Type the blackberry email address into the Delivery field (if not known contact your service provider such as Verizon, Cingular,etc)
  6. Check Save local copy
  7. Click the Save button

Setup account using the service provider website

  1. Login to the blackberry email setup page provided by the service provider
  2. Email setup pages vary from service provider to service provider but will all require the following settings:

 

Incoming mail server: pop.oxfordnetworks.net
Incoming mail port: 110
Requires SSL: No
Email Address: The email address assigned to your ONmail  account
Username: ONmail Username ( email address)
Password: The password for the ONmail account (case sensitive)

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

Cingular 2125, T-Mobile MDA

  1. On the Home screen, click Start
  2. Select Messaging and click any item on the Messaging screen
  3. Click Menu, then Options, and then New Account
  4. Type Your Name and E-mail address
  5. Select to Automatically configure the account settings. If unsuccessful enter the settings below:

User name: This is the username for your email account
Password: This is the password assigned to your account
Domain: Not required
Server type: POP3
Account name: Enter a unique name for the account such as "Work" or "Home"
Incoming server: pop.oxfordnetworks.net
Require SSL connection: Not supported
Outgoing server: smtp.oxfordnetworks.net
Outgoing server requires authentication: YES
Outgoing server settings: Use same settings as incoming server

Treo 650

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. Click the Menus button
  3. Select Accounts and then select Account Setup, and then select New
  4. Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.oxfordnetworks.net
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP) and select Done

Treo 680

VersaMail

  1. Press the Applications button and select VersaMail
  2. If this is the first email account you’ve set up in VersaMail, you’ll see an initial setup option. Select Continue. Otherwise, click the Menus button and from the Accounts menu, select Account Setup.
  3. Select New
  4. Give this account a name. It can be anything you like, such as "My Email". Select Other from the Mail Service drop-down menu and select Next
  5. Enter the account username and password and select Next
  6. Enter your email address
  7. In the Incoming Mail Server field, type pop.oxfordnetworks.net
  8. In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net and select Next
  9. Select the Advanced button
  10. Leave the Incoming Mail server set as default (Port 110 with both checkboxes unchecked)
  11. Select the Next button
  12. You can leave the Outgoing Mail Port Number set to 25 or switch to 5125 if having trouble sending
  13. Check the box for Use authentication (ESMTP), and be sure that the username and password fields are filled out. Click Done

Treo 700 / 750

Treo 700 / 750

  1. Go to the Today screen and press Messaging
  2. Press Menu and select Tools then New Account
  3. Enter the email address that you want to set up, and press Next
  4. Wait until the Status box displays completed, and then press Next
  5. Enter your name, username, and password
  6. If you want to enter your password each time you access this account, do not check the Save password box. If you want your
  7. password entered automatically, check this box
  8. Press Next
  9. Select the Account type list, and then select POP3
  10. Enter a name for this account, and then press Next . For example,   work email account, enter “Work” or your company’s name
  11. Enter the name of the incoming mail server as pop.oxfordnetworks.net and outgoing mail server as smtp.oxfordnetworks.net 
  12. Select Options and verify that Outgoing Server Requires Authentication is checked

Mozilla Thunderbird

POP Setup

Configuring POP3 Setup for Thunderbird

1.      Click on Tools

2.      Click on Account Settings

3.      Click on Add Account

4.      Select Email Account

5.      Fill in Your Name and Email Address and click the Next button

6.      Select  POP as the type of incoming server

7.      Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming Server field and click the Next button

8.      Type your User Name (email address) and click Next

9.      Leave Account name as your email address and click Next

10.  Verify Download messages now is checked and Click the Finish button

11.  You will be prompted for the password, fill in and choose if you want Thunderbird to remember the password and then press OK

12.  Click Tools and select Account Settings

13.  Click Outgoing Server from the pane on the left and click the Add button

14.  For the Server Name, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net

15.  Check the box for Use name and password and fill in your User Name (email address)

16.  Click the  OK button and then click the OK button again

 

 

 

Configuring POP3 Setup for Thunderbird w/SSL

1.      Click on Tools

2.      Click on Account Settings

3.      Click on Add Account

4.      Select Email Account

5.      Fill in Your Name and Email Address and click the Next button

6.      Select  POP as the type of incoming server

7.      Type pop.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming Server field and click the Next button

8.      Type your User Name (email address) and click Next

9.      Leave Account name as your email address and click Next

10.  Verify Download messages now is checked and Click the Finish button

11.  You will be prompted for the password, fill in and choose if you want Thunderbird to remember the password and then press OK

12.  Click Tools and select Account Settings

13.  Click Outgoing Server from the pane on the left and click the Add button

14.  For the Server Name, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net

15.  Check the box for Use name and password and fill in your User Name (email address)

16.  Under the Use Secure Connection check SSL

17.  Click on the Server Settings and select Use Secure Connection (TLS)

18.  Click the  OK button and then click the OK button again

IMAP Setup

1) Click Create a new account

2) Select Email account

3) Fill in Your Name and Email Address and click the Next button

4) Select  IMAP as the type of incoming server

5) Type imap.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming Server field

6) Type your User Name ( email address) and click Next

7) Leave Account name as your email address and click Next

8) Verify Download messages now is checked and Click the Finish button

9)  You will be prompted for the password, fill in and choose if you want Thunderbird to remember the password and then press OK

10) Click Tools and select Account Settings

11) Click Outgoing Server from the pane on the left and click the Add button

12) For the Server Name, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net

13) Check the box for Use name and password and fill in your your User Name (your email address, name@domain.xxx)

14) Click the  OK button and then click the OK button again

 

Configuring IMAP Setup for Thunderbird w/SSL

1.      1) Click on Tools

2.      Click on Account Settings

3.      Click on Add Account

4.      Select Email Account

5.      Fill in Your Name and Email Address and click the Next button

6.      Select  IMAP as the type of incoming server

7.      Type imap.oxfordnetworks.net into the Incoming Server field

8.      Type your User Name ( email address) and click Next

9.      Leave Account name as your email address and click Next

10.  Verify Download messages now is checked and Click the Finish button

11.  You will be prompted for the password, fill in and choose if you want Thunderbird to remember the password and then press OK

12.  Click Tools and select Account Settings

13.  Click Outgoing Server from the pane on the left and click the Add button

14.  For the Server Name, type smtp.oxfordnetworks.net

15.  Check the box for Use name and password and fill in your your User Name (your full email address)

16.  Under the Use Secure Connection check SSL

17.  Click on the Server Settings and select Use Secure Connection (SSL)

18.  Click the  OK button and then click the OK button again
